Reprogramming the bootloader on SOM products
Is there a way to revive my bricked SOM on Development Kit, HDK, or ADP Dev Kit?
We are sorry to hear you bricked your SOM board. It happens to the best of us.
If your SOM board does not enter fastboot, then most likely its bootloader is corrupted. Re-flashing the bootloader may be able to revive the board. Unfortunately, you can't re-flash your bootloader on your own since the process requires some Qualcomm proprietary tools. The tools are proprietary because the Snapdragon processor security requirements allow only a trusted source to re-flash the bootloader.
Lantronix is a trusted lab that is authorized to re-flash the bootloader. We charge a nominal fee of US $80 to cover the return shipping and handling costs.
Please note that there is no assurance that re-flashing the bootloader will revive the board. If re-flashing does not revive the board, we do not attempt any other repair. You will be required to pay the fee of US $80 only if the Devkit is recovered, or you want the non-recovered SOM on your DevKit/HDK/ADP to be shipped back.
