SGX Bridging functionality with Transparent Mode and Network Access for Gateway Options

Sample Topology of SGX bridging between Wlan and Ethernet

*SGX does not support Bridging between internal AP and Ethernet

Case 1: SGX bridging functionality with Transparent mode disabled

  • PC1 and PC2 are reachable from each other

  • Valid IP and default gateway IP are assigned to SGX after successful WLAN 0 connection to Access Point(AP) ,this can be checked in status from SGX WebGUI page

Wlan 0 IP is reachable and SGX WebGUI page opens as well from PC1

Wlan 0 IP is not reachable and SGX WebGUI page does not open from PC2

  • Default Gateway IP of SGX assigned to Wlan 0 when connected to Access Point(AP) is reachable from PC1 and PC2

  • SGX having AccessPoint functionality as well ,have default IP i.e 192.168.0.1

default IP is not reachable and SGX WebGUI page does not open from PC1

default IP is reachable and SGX WebGUI page opens as well from PC2

Case 2: SGX bridging functionality with Transparent mode Enabled and network acces gateway disabled

  • PC1 and PC2 are reachable from each other

  • SGX having AccessPoint functionality as well, have default IP i.e 192.168.0.1

default IP is not reachable and SGX WebGUI page does not open from PC1

default IP is reachable and SGX WebGUI page opens as well from PC2

  • With transparent Mode Enabled,Wlan 0 IP and default gateway IP on SGX are not visible i.e transparent after successful Wlan connection with Access point (AP)

  • PC1 and PC2 does not know the transparent IP and so they cannot access WebGUI on Wlan0 leaving only option to access SGX WebGUI is through SGX Default Access Point IP i.e (192.168.0.1) from PC2 only

Case 3: SGX bridging functionality with Transparent mode Enabled and network acces gateway Enabled

  • PC1 will be able to Reach PC2 but not vice versa

  • SGX having AccessPoint functionality as well, have default IP i.e 192.168.0.1

default IP is not reachable and SGX WebGUI page does not open from PC1

default IP is reachable and SGX WebGUI page opens as well from PC2

  • With transparent Mode and network access gateway Enabled,Wlan 0 IP and default gateway IP on SGX are not visible i.e transparent after successful Wlan connection with Access point (AP)

  • PC1 and PC2 does not know the transparent IP and so they cannot access WebGUI on Wlan0 leaving only option to access SGX WebGUI is through SGX Default Access Point IP i.e (192.168.0.1) from PC2 only
