I have a technical question about my Lantronix product.  How can I find an answer on the Lantronix web site?

1) The first place to look for answers is in the documentation for your Lantronix product, available from http://www.lantronix.com/support/documentation.html.

For instance, if you need to find out how to assign an IP address to a UDS1100:

• click on the link above
• choose "External Networking" from the "Select a Product Family" pull-down list
• scroll down to the UDS1100 and click on the "User Guide" link to display the UDS1100 User Guide PDF file.
• In the "Getting Started" chapter, follow the "Assigning the IP Address: DeviceInstaller" procedure (on page 17 at this writing) or the "Assigning the IP Address: Serial Port Login" procedure (currently on page 20).
• Other ways to assign an IP address are addressed in Appendix A, "Alternative Ways to Assign an IP Address", currently starting on page 76.

Hint: If you cannot find what you're looking for in the table of contents or the index of a Lantronix documentation PDF, use the Search function in Adobe Acrobat Reader to search the PDF file for key words.

Along with the User Guide or Install Guide, many Lantronix Products also have a QuickStart Guide (useful if you're already familiar with the product) and possibly a Reference Manual with a full command reference.

Embedded products have even more documentation, including an Integration Guide, Data Sheet(s) and other useful documents.

2) If you cannot find the information you're looking for, or if you are having trouble understanding the information in the documentation, search in the Lantronix Knowledgebase, http://www.lantronix.com/support for answers.

For instance, using the same example as above, assigning an IP address to a UDS1100:

• click on the link above
• choose "External Device Servers..." from the "Search by Product" pull-down list
• choose "UDS1100" as the Subproduct
• type "IP Address" into the "Search by Keyword field
• click the "Search" button

Answer ID 1376, "Assigning an IP address to a CoBos product", will be among the top answers returned. Click on the orange answer title to open the FAQ.

3) Lantronix also offers video tutorials to answer common questions. Available video tutorials are listed here:
