Configuring a UDS using HyperTerminal or other Terminal Emulator
How do I assign an IP to a UDS product using the serial connection from a PC running HyperTerminal?

- Use a standard modem cable (straight through) connected from your pc's DB9 port to the DB25 port on the UDS.
- Configure a HyperTerminal, TeraTerm or PuTTY serial session for the Com port you connected the cable to for 9600bps, 8 bit characters, No parity and 1 stop bit. Make sure the HyperTerminal window is the active window on your screen
- Power down the UDS/Cobox and power the unit up holding the x key down on the PC's keyboard
- When the "Press Enter to go into Setup Mode" prompt appears, Press enter within 5 seconds and the following will appear:

9 Save and exit Your choice ? - Type '0' at the "Your Choice" prompt and enter the correct IP address, and other network configuration information.
- For assistance on subnet mask, please refer to the manual located at use the table below.
- Choose option 9 to Save and exit to keep the new configuration.
- NOTE: If you make a mistake, hit Enter until you get back to the menu, choose 0 and retype the correct information.
