What do the various LEDs on MSSs mean?

POWER

100 (MSS100 only)
OK
SERIAL


Interpreting the LED's

POWER
o Indicates power on

LINK
o Lit when good network connection is present

100 (MSS100)
o Lit when connection is 100Mb

OK
o Blinks green rapidly during boot up
o Intermittent yellow blinks during boot up
o Blinks green once every 2-3 seconds when operating normally
o Intermittently blinks yellow indicating network activity

SERIAL
o Intermittently blinks red when data is transmitted through the serial port
o Intermittently blinks green when data is received through the serial port
o Intermittently blinks yellow when data is both transmitted and received through the serial port
