Opening BIOS setup mode on a motherboard that supports serial Console Redirection

I'm opening a connection to a serial console port on a motherboard that supports console redirection, but I can't get to BIOS setup. I have Console Redirection enabled on the motherboard, I'm connected to the correct Com port with a correctly wired cable, and the serial characteristics of the Lantronix server's serial port match those of the Com port. What can I do to get into BIOS setup?

Different motherboards require different key sequences to access BIOS setup through a serial console port.

Examples:

* At least one Dell motherboard uses the sequence Esc 2 (press Esc then the 2 key in rapid sequence).

* Some Supermicro motherboards use Esc - (Escape Minus)

Other motherboards may use different sequences. Please check the documentation for your motherboard or contact your motherboard manufacturer to find out what key sequence is required.
