Link LED stays on solid green when the Network connection is removed

When I unplug the RJ45 Ethernet cable from a UDS, SDS or WiBox, the link LED on the device stays on solid green.

Check the power supply for the Device Server. The UDS, SDS and WiBox require a power supply with either a 120 volt input for use in the United States, or a 230 volt input for use outside of the United States.

If you are using the Device Server in the United States and are experiencing the symptoms above, it may be that you are using the it with a power supply that is 230 volts input. When connected to 120V a 230V power supply's output may be approximately half the rated voltage.

You can verify the input voltage of your power supply by looking at the information printed on the power supply itself.

If you see "Netz: 230V:" or something similar, you have a power supply meant for use outside of the United States.

If you see "I/P: 120VAC" or something similar you have a power supply meant for use in the United States.

Some recent overseas power supplies have an input rating of approximately 90-240Vac, 50 or 60 Hz. These are switching power supplies that can be used almost anywhere in the world, so they will supply the correct DC voltage in the US.

In general, overseas (230Vac) power supplies require either a separate AC power cord or removable a adapter, while the domestic (120VAC) power supplies are all "wall wart" transformers that plug directly into a North American AC outlet with no adapter or power cord required.

If you received the wrong power supply for your Device Server, or if you have the correct power supply and the Link LED remains lit with no network connection, please contact Lantronix Technical Support..
