My xPrintServer Network Edition is not updating firmware from R64. When attempting to update firmware using the xPrintServer WebManager, the xPrintServer reports back it is already running the latest version as shown below:
How can I resolve this?
Recommended troubleshooting steps:
This can be caused by a number of factors.
1. The xPrintServer is blocked from connecting to the cloud service on the Internet.
An Internet connection is required for the xPrintServer to download drivers, update firmware, send diagnostics, and sync with the NTP server.
If the network connection to the Internet is managed by a firewall or proxy service, there are filtering services which may block vital xPrintServer functions.
To rule this out, if you administer the network firewall or proxy server, you can add the xPrintServer as an exception to the filtering service to allow unfiltered access to the cloud service on the Internet.
If you do not administer the network firewall or proxy server, you can take the xPrintServer to another network (e.g. home network, or other location) that provides unfiltered access to the Internet and perform the firmware update procedure from there.
2. Firmware updates can be affected by unusual interaction between your web browser and the xPrintServer's web interface.
Try using different a browser to see if this helps. The xPrintServer's WebManager was tested for support for the most recent versions of the many popular browsers - Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, and Chrome. There was a case where a firmware update failed using Internet Explorer but succeeded when Mozilla Firefox was used.
You can also try using another PC to update the xPrintServer's firmware.
3. Factory Default the xPrintServer using a paperclip then try updating the firmware again.
Follow the directions for factory default using the steps on page 11 of the online User Guide --
