SGX5150-PW2050 Cannot Reboot to Standalone Firmware Installer Using wlan0 IP
SGX5150-PW2050 Cannot Reboot to Standalone Firmware Installer Using wlan0 IP
Why won't my SGX5150/PW2050 reboot to Standalone Firmware Installer feature when using wlan0 IP?
Here is why this may occur and how you can get this feature to work.
Problem: In Web Browser, visit SGX5150/PW2050 using its wlan0 IP address. Go to the "Administration" web page, and click the button "Reboot to Standalone Firmware Installer". The web page fails to redirect.
Reason: Your Access Point performs incorrect Proxy ARP, which contains the Access Point's own MAC address instead of the MAC address of the SGX5150/PW2050 device. Netgear WNDAP3500 is a known Access Point with such wrong behavior.
Solution: In the PC that reboots SGX5150/PW2050, clear the ARP entry for the rebooted SGX5150/PW2050 and then reload the web page, which should display Standalone Firmware Installer.
