Upgrade an SLC-SLC8000 or SLB via HTTPS from a Windows PC

What is the procedure to upgrade an SLC/SLC8000 or SLB using HTTPS?

Note: Firmware versions up to and including v5.3b cannot find the slcupdate*.tgz upgrade file on a Windows PC unless it is in C:\. Later versions can load the firmware from any directory.

  • If you're running 5.3b or earlier ut the upgrade file into C:\ on a Windows PC.
  • On the Maintenance Page, select HTTPS for Load Firmware (this enables ‘Upload File’ link to the right)
  • Click Upload File link, then browse to select FW, click ‘Upload File’ button and after upload completed click ‘Close Window’ button.
    • This will upload FW to SLC. The upgrade has not yet been installed.
    • At this stage, the upload FW filename should appear in the ‘Firmware Filename’ text box.
  • Enter the Checksum Key
  • Click Update Firmware Check box
  • Click the ‘Apply’ button

This will start the upgrade process. Open the Status window to monitor the upgrade messages.

On a single-bank system the SLC will automatically reboot at the end of the upgrade process.

On a dual-bank system the unused bank will be upgraded. A manual reboot is required to boot from the newly upgraded bank
