I have an older SLC-01, SLC-02 or SLB-01, with PC card slots on the front panel instead of a USB port.  It is running V4.x or earlier, so I need to upgrade to v5.2 before I can upgrade to later firmware versions. Where can I get SLC v5.2a?  Is there anything I should know before installing it?

In this article the term "SLC" refers to both SLCs and SLBs.

NOTE: From v5.0 to v5.2a there are two types of memory organization in SLCs that require different upgrade files:

* Single Bank - All SLCs with 128MB of flash and SLCs with 256MB of flash that have been upgraded from v4.x or earlier using an upgrade patch from the Lantronix web site have a single bank of memory for firmware.

* Dual Bank - SLCs that originally shipped with v5.0 or higher all have 256MB of flash and dual memory banks for firmware.

SLCs running v4.x and earlier will have 128MB of flash, so use the Single Bank upgrade patch for these SLCs.

Determining which update to use:

• Log into the SLC's CLI as sysadmin
• Type "admin firmware show"
  
  • If two banks are listed then you have a dual bank system and you must load the dual-bank upgrade:
