How can I open Monitor Mode from a connection to the first serial port on a CoBos device server?

Entering Monitor Mode Using the Serial Port

To enter Monitor Mode locally:

1. Connect a console terminal or PC running a terminal emulation program to your unit's serial port. The default serial port settings are 9600 baud, 8 bits, no parity, 1-stop bit, no-flow control.

2. Reset the Device Server by cycling the unit's power (turning the power off and back on).

3.Immediately upon resetting the device, enter three lowercase characters as detailed below

a) Type zzz (or xx1) to enter Monitor Mode with network connections.
b) Type yyy (or yy1) to enter Monitor Mode without network connections.

A 0> prompt indicates that you have successfully entered Monitor Mode.

Note: The easiest way to enter Monitor Mode is to hold down the z or y key at the terminal (or emulator) while resetting the unit. You must do this within three seconds of resetting the device server.
