What is the latest firmware for the PremierWave XC HSPA+?
The current released version of firmware for the PremierWave XC HSPA+ is v7.9.0.0R11
IMPORTANT UPGRADE NOTE - If you are currently running firmware version lower than 7.9, you MUST upgrade to version 7.9 using Device Installer Firmware Recovery. This procedure MUST be performed using Device Installer version 4.4.0.2 or higher. Read the Important Upgrade Note below before proceeding.
The latest version of Device Installer can be downloaded here.
Upgrading the firmware using serial recovery will result in a factory restored configuration, so you will need to re-configure the unit or load a saved configuration.
Since this will be a serial recovery load, you can choose to load either the Base version of 7.9.0.0 without Python support or the version with Python support. Whichever you choose, stay with that option through the remainder of the update process. If you choose not to load the Python version, but decide you need it later, there is a Python add-on file for 8.1.0.1R3 toward the end of this page.
Once the unit is at 7.9.0.0, you will need to load an 8.0.0.0B1 interim upgrader. This can be done via the normal method in the User Guide, via the web manager or over FTP. See the upgrade note in the 7.9.0.0 section below.
Once you load the 8.0.0.0B1 interim upgrader, repeat the process with the 8.1.0.1R3 upgrade file.
If you are already running 8.0.0.0R16, you can upgrade directly to 8.1.0.1R3.

If you have a PremierWave XC HSPA+ running the Base Version of firmware you can use the procedure in the Add-on Upgrade Note below to add Python. The notice refers to 8.0.0.0R16, but applies to 8.1.0.1R3, as well.
