How can I configure an XPort or XPort Pro Evolution to communicate with a remote POP server to send email? How do I define the password?

XPorts can only email via a local SMTP server that does not require a password.  Some customers have had good luck with the trial version of CMailServer, available from most download sites.  Or, do a search on a download site for SMTP Server to find other available SMTP servers.

Another option is to use the built-in SMTP server on a Linux or Unix host.

Configure the SMTP server to forward emails from the XPort to the remote POP server.
