How do I configure Windows IAS RADIUS to work with and SLC?

To create a policy that is appropriate for an SLC use the procedure below:

1. Under a new policy, add the Windows Groups you want to be able to authenticate

2. Grant those groups remote access permission

3. Edit the profile

4. Under "Authentication", select Unencrypted Authentication (uncheck all others)

5. Under "Advanced", change the service-type to "login"

6. Remove "Framed-protocol"

7. OK out of the profile setup

When creating the Client definition, use "RADIUS Standard" for the "Client-Vendor". 

There is a choice of "Lantronix" in the "Client-Vendor" list, but this applies to the Lantronix LRS and SCS'00 series products and is tailored for PPP connections, so use "RADIUS Standard" for SLCs.
