Command Line Utilities:
These command line utilities can be used to troubleshoot DeviceInstaller (DI) issues. Type the command with no arguments for a Usage message. These are stand-alone utilities, no installation is required:
|dsearch||Searches for Lantronix device servers on the local network using DI search broadcasts|
|dping||"pings" Lantronix device servers on the local network using DI search protocol|
|dlisten||Listens for DI search broadcasts on the local network|

Requirements ============ The following items are required to run DeviceInstaller: 1. Windows x86 7, 8/8.1, 10 Windows x64 7, 8/8.1, 10, Server 2008, and Server 2012 2. Microsoft .NET Framework v4.0. 3. Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.1, or later. 4. 30MB free hard drive space. The "Internet Connection Firewall" must be disabled, or else UDP Port 30718 must be available. Otherwise, you will not be able to detect or communicate with any devices on the network. To configure, go to the Control Panel, go to Network Settings, select the corresponding network adapter, choose Properties, and go to the Advanced tab.

For most current Lantronix device servers, only port 30718 must be added as an Exception. If you are using the DeviceInstaller with legacy device servers such as the MSSs, add exceptions for 43282 and 43283.
If the connection is between two different sites you may also need to allow these ports access through the corporate firewall. As Device installer only detects units on the local subnet.
