What is the latest firmware version for SLC-02?

The last supported firmware update for the SLC-02 models (PC Card slots on the front panel) is 6.2.0.0.

If you have an SLC-03 (USB port on the front panel, go to faq)

SLCx-02 models must be dual boot bank. To determine if your current unit has dual boot banks, click on the link in the next paragraph related to updating to v5.2a.

Along with being dual boot, SLCx-02 models must be running firmware version v5.4 before applying the v6.1.0.0 patch. If your SLCx-02 is running firmware older than v5.2a, you must update it to v5.2a prior to updating it to v5.4. Click here for instructions on updating it to v5.2a.

In addition, both banks must be running 5.4. If the current bank is running 5.4 and the inactive bank is running an older version, you will need to perform a Copy Contents under the Maintenance>Firmware/Config page or use the CLI command "admin firmware copybank".

If your SLCx-02 models are not dual boot bank it cannot be upgraded to v6.x firmware.

Once your SLCx-02 is updated to, or if it is already running v5.2a or higher, but lower than v5.4, use the links below to obtain the patch to update the unit to v5.4.

5.4 for SLCx-02 (with PC Card slots):

If your SLCx-02 is already running v5.4 and has dual boot banks, you may proceed with applying the v6.1.0.0 patch.

IMPORTANT - Do not proceed with an update of an SLCx-02 model (model with PC Card Slots) if the units have not been updated to v5.4 and have dual boot banks, as described here.

6.1.0.0:

IMPORTANT, READ THIS BEFORE PROCEEDING - If your SLC-02 is running v5.4 on both boot banks, first download and install the patch file for v6.1.0.0 using the following links.

DO NOT reboot the SLC once the update has completed. Proceed directly to downloading and upgrading to 6.2.0.0.

6.2.0.0:

If your SLC is running 6.1.x firmware on both banks you can directly load v6.2.0.0 using the following links. If only one bank has 6.1.0.0 or higher installed, and it is the "current" bank, you will need to reboot to the other bank so that you are upgrading the 6.x bank. You can do this on the Maintenance>Firmware/Config page. Attempting to load 6.2.0.0 into a bank with 5.x firmware will fail.

After upgrading from 5.x we recommend that you run the upgraded firmware for at least 1 week to make sure there are no problems with the upgrade, then copy the 6.x bank into the 5.x bank.
